Choosing a covenant for Ruthe

Writer's picture: RutheRuthe

I was very conflicted when coosing a covenant for my warlock. All guides says Night Fae or Kyrian. But it does not fit my warlock very well. I love numbers and lists, so I made my own list, weighted by how important each criteria is for me.

Night Fae

This was the covenant I decided to go for my druid. I don't think a warlock fits the theme. The damaging ability is very good in both single target and aoe (up to 3 targets). And the soulshape ability would help my warlock overcome her mobility problems. I like the zone, but it reminds me too much of a blue Darkshore. The night fae have several good soulbinds, so it works well for multiple specs.

Necrolords

This convenant fit my warlock well. In early beta, this was the best convenant for warlocks. But it was so over powered that it was nerfed to unusable (according to the guides). I like the zone with the bones and the slimes. But I'm not too found of abominations.

Kyrian

This zone really wowed me when I started Shadowlands. I love the design, but it doesn't really fit my warlock. I felt like an imposter running around with my demon. For a while kyrian was the best convenant for warlocks. It took me some time to accept it. Their ability works best in single target, but is ok in multi target. I have played one dungeon with kyrian, and the ability was fun to use!

Ventyr

I'm a sucker for vampires (haha). I really wish that this was the best convenant for us. But the damage ability was nerfed a lot. It is still ok for aoe, but very bad for single target. Since my warlock is going to be my raider, single target is kind of important. I loved the zone and the characters in it. The whole zone is really well designed, with lots of interesting details.
