My summer vacation started this week, and I have been having a cold, so I have spent a lot of my time in Shadowlands the last few days. My first impression of the patch is good. I did not have high expectations, and but it went all right. I like the new zone, Korthia. I like the design of it. There is a special feeling you get when you see rocks floating in the air, and the ground you are walking on is connected to the Maw by large chains. The wildlife is cool and look likes aliens. You get a little cute companion to follow you and sniff out treasures. There are some quests, dailies, rare elites and treasures.
The eye of the jailer in the Maw is gone, and that feels really good. Now you don't have to worry how much you do there. Can sneak passed those eyes, and dont get bombarded. All mounts works in there too. And there are covenant assaults in the Maw. I'm not sure what I think about them. They seems to take a lot of time. There are so many strange things you have to do. And I don't like that you have little choice in what to do for the assault, but there is some specific quests you need to do.
Both balance and affliction has been nerfed a lot. The balance druid nerfs seems ok. Even though I hate what they did to the starfall talent. But I think we'll manage. With the nerf to the legendary and to some talents, the majority is shifting from night fae to venthyr. I have invested so much in the night fae. Building up the sanctum and getting transmogs. I do NOT want to switch covenant. And it makes me feel very bad to choose a less optimal covenant. My excuse is that I stay night fae for my resto off-spec.
The nerfs to affliction was NOT ok. It doesn't really do any damage, except when you use sow the seeds on multiple mobs. The whole shadow's embrace is thankfully gone, so the rotation feels better. But it takes ages to kill mobs. And malefic rapture not dealing much damage just feels... not good. You start to wonder why you press the button. I kind of wish they would just get rid of the spell and make unstable affliction the main single target spender again. You can't have a complex rotation building up to.... very little damage.
I played through the story and most of the stuff with Ulveblomst as balance, and a little bit of guardian to get those elites down. I played the new Torghast first two times as balance, and then one as feral. Balance is soooo much easier. I'm not totally sure what I think of the new Torghast system yet. Think I have to test it out some more. But I did get a lot of shoulder transmogs! Super nice! Except that female worgens does not look good with any shoulder transmog...
I did some stuff with Ruthe in Korthia too. Tried out all the warlock specs. Destro is still not appealing, affliction doesn't do anything, other than tagging mobs that others kill, but demo felt kind of good. There has been some quality of life changes on demo lately. Your demons takes much longer time to despawn when you are out of combat now, your felguard has a proper interrupt, and you can actually control what mobs your demons attack.
I have also played Azralin a bit. After doing achievements where we needed several different characters, I realised that shamans are kind of fun to play. I finished the Necrolord campaign and did a lot of Korthia and Maw stuff on her.
We have been doing some mythic pluses this week to. And believe it or not, but I healed three 17 dungeons in time! First time in Shadowlands that we've tried a 17. There has been some nerfs, but for instance the pride is not nerfed. It went fine to heal. Predictable damage over time is ok for a druid to handle. First I did two with the guild. And then I just for an experiment signed up to heal a 17 plaguefall. Had no idea we would time that too! I also did a couple of runs as feral. So I have played resto, feral and affliction, but no balance druid runs this week.

New mounts this week

Aerial unit R21/X

The "achievement group" did the rest of the Mechagon hard mode runs. And this time it was my turn to get it! Got it on Ulveblomst.
Sapphire Skyblazer

This is the new mount for 6 months subscription. It looks like the animations are unique (for now), and I like it very much! Even though it is a flying mount, it has good walking animations too.
Armored war-bred tauralus

Got this handsome thingy from getting high renown with Azralin as Necrolords.
