Mimara and other alts (1)

Since the amount of content for max level characters is either gated or very grindy with no real carrot at the end, I have started to spend more time on alts than on the main. Which I was not supposed to do given the rather brittle nature of the content when it comes to repeating it. Some alts I had planned to do anyway, but what I have done on them was not exactly according to plan, except for one character... Guess I am really bad at sticking to plans in warcraft :)

Mimara

As the reserve for Wutteät, it became clear fast that Vengeance Demon hunter didn't really have any competition in the tank department, considering how many issues the other tanks in the guild are experiencing in dungeons - like just randomly getting clocked and more issues with keeping threat when having to kite. Since I have played this character in a "traditional" way of doing dungeons (including timewalking) it's behind on gear and renown, even if it's been level 60 since the first week of the season. If I hadn't started doing some pvp Mimara might still have had under ilevel 190. Since none of the specs are arguably very good and I find them to be somewhat boring this might actually be the expansion I don't really bother even upkeeping a paladin on a minimal level.

The only alt I have kept in reign. It's very easy when you can do better dps on pretty much anything else with less effort, be more mobile and not need some rampup while in content where stuff just dies before you can really do your stuff. Have only really done some callings when I needed gold on Wutteät for rank 4 legendary that gave me some renown. Taking enchanting on this was a mistake, as Ruthe commented at one point needing to do dungeons to get purples to disenchant for her enchanter - not doing any content on this at all made it a bit pointless. So I took enchanting on Wutteät instead. Will most likely take Inscription on this once I have decided what Esmënet wants to replace it with. Will be surprised if I have improved anything on this by the end of next month...

Meant to be a character I played through the Necrolords campaign with and create missives and talent respec scrolls with, it has sort of sailed up as my priority alt instead of the mage and druid. BM is pretty much the same, and MM can do so much damage compared to my mage even if I am the wrong covenant, dont have the right conduits and keep messing up the priority for buttons. And have been level 60 for 18 days while the mage was max the first week of SL... So I have done Torghast the last couple of weeks, tried to play it when people wanted a dps for something low in guild or pugged otherwise. In addition, I am trying to upgrade the honor bow to 197 which is taking a fair amount of grinding to do. So a high upkeep alt at the moment.

Been 60 for 10 days. Meant to be a character for playing with the odd horde I played with in BFA (who have already seemed to mostly quit) and some TH guildies with horde alts. Just made it a carbon copy of Wutteät - including keybinds - for ease of play. Will most likely only do a single +5 to +8 pug key each week unless a premade is formed. So very easy to maintain. But will not get anywhere high.

This character was mostly a flavor of the month project; windwalker dps is off the charts at the moment so just wanted to try it. And herb/skin some on the way there. Doing the "new" max level routine of avoiding dungeons and raids, but do the covenant campaign and some random bgs is making it rapidly catch up on Mimara for example. While having been 60 for 2 days so far. The biggest issue, like it was with Esmënet and Ghoset too, is that there are no visible way to progress renown. So I don't know if the game is just preventing my progress or if it's just bad rng that prevents me from getting the next 2 renown that I need for the next campaign quest chapter. Since max level honor gear is locked behind renown 22 that is also a bottleneck.

What I do with this character is a bit unclear. I am really sick of Torghast at this point, so even doing one set of layer 7s is really offputting. And that is after the recent hotfix of letting you skip the climbing from 1 to 8 on alts in there. I also would need a memory drop from Stone Generals I think in Nathria, which would mean doing LFR or pugging normal. I am going to finish gearing it to about 195 like the other new alts regardless, but to do m+ I'd like a legendary so it all boils down to if I am bored enough one evening to do Torghast for it.
