My BFA review

raider.io has made this fun feature, where you can look at what you did throughout the whole expansion. This wasn't my best expansion since I've been having large breaks, changing guilds and even changing side. I hope that I will stay where I am now for Shadowlands. And that is on the alliance side in Twilight Hope.

Raiding

I started out in Uldir with my horde guild DarkNation. This is actually the only raid I did from start to end with a guild. So the only curve I actually deserve. The only two mythic kills I have are from Uldir. I was affliction, and it was pretty good for Uldir. It was mandatory to have at least two warlocks on the last boss.

In Dazar'alor I was in the alliance guild Friends with Benefits (Krissies guild), as a balance druid. I joined when they were on heroic progression. I was also once with them in Crucible of Storms. The only thing I remember from there was that my new alliance character got her first honorable kill 😅. I also started doing The Eternal Palace with this guild, as resto druid. But I did not finish the progression and took a large break from the game.

When I came back from my break I joined the alliance guild Twilight Hope. I joined them after they had already killed the last boss in Ny'alotha on heroic. I was pretty undergeared when I joined. So no, I definitely don't deserve the curve I got there. I tried out destruction, but it was very frustrating.

Dungeons

These are the number of runs I had in the different seasons. Wish the prepatch season was here too.

To my surprise, I can see that my most played spec in BFA dungeons is actually a healer. Since warlocks were so bad this expansion, I did most of the runs with my druid.

The first season I played affliction. But I learned early that the spec was not very good for dungeons. The people I had played most dungeons with in Legion was a rogue and a demon hunter. With my slow ramp up time, and non-existing aoe, I was garbage. I had to get boosted by the guild to get geared. I did not try to play affliction again until season 4.

I ended up doing very few dungeons with the guild, and most with my "wow family" consisting of real life friends.

In season two I was lured to the alliance side by Krissie, and joined the Friends with Benefits guild. After a while we got a pretty solid dungeon team, and I had lots of fun. I was playing balance druid.

In season three I continued with the same people. This time I was a resto druid. This is where I took my longest break from the game since I started playing in Legion. Krissie left the guild, and most people I had played with started playing classic instead. And I had said to myself that I should not come back to the game again (guess I never learn...).

Then the corona hit, and I found myself stuck at home. Soooo I started again. This time I followed Dominator into his guild, Twilight Hope. I started out as destruction because they needed a warlock in the raid, and affliction was so bad in dungeons. After the raid I took a break again. Then the summer vacation came, aaaand I started playing again.

I played a little blit of warlock. Tried both affliction and destruction, but landed on mostly playing resto druid. Because of my break I was far behind the others on the corruption grind, so it was nice that I could just help them by healing and not having to pretend to do dps.

Prepatch season

In the prepatch the warlock specs got some significant changes, and was able to do damage in dungeons again. I have mostly played affliction to get used to the spec again, and see if I want to main it for shadowlands. The spec is good on high fortified keys. For low keys with other dpses with bursting damage, I always go destruction. Destruction is more fun than before because of the shorter cooldown of the infernal, but I still don't like a spec that is so tied to their cooldowns.

I have also played a bit balance druid, and it is really fun right now. I am afraid it will loose a lot of its strenghts when the azerite and essence stuff is gone. We'll have to see how it ends up.

These are the scores I ended up with in this expansion:

These are my most run dungeons:

The two lowest ones are mechagon, since they were added later in the game. You can see that my third lowest one is Shrine of the storm. As a caster I was almost never able to be invited to the dungeon, since it required lots of interrupts.
