Dragonflight release is closing in... So I have to structure my thoughts on it.
I have made a second account that I have played at times to be left in peace when I am at my most asocial and tired. For this account, I do not make plans or goals, I merely log on and do stuff I want to at that moment. So this will be about my main account. However, I have ear marked some classes as comfort picks, and will keep these for that account:
Demon Hunter
Shaman
Hunter
Druid
Monk
I might make a season summary for the alt account every season, for comparative purposes.
The core thing I want from Dragonflight is consistent progress. I want to have some progress every week I play, and do it slow and steady. NOT play 40 dungeons a week for 4 weeks, get burned out and bored of the game, get mad at people and end up with drama and take random breaks. And work on that progress on weekdays, by taking control of what I do and when.
I'd also like to consistently play with the same group of people. Like a few keys a week, perhaps timewalking every time it comes up. And do this mostly during weekends. Be more flexible in what I do when doing this, like could do higher or lower keys than I would like to do normally, play weird comps and other things out of my usual ideas. But if those groups turns into MUST FILL MAX VAULT ON 3 ALTS groups I am out of there.
The last thing is that I want to have the numbers of things done be lower. Less keys done season-by-season compared to SL. Less specs played. Less raid bosses done. The works.
Goal list for DF week-by-week
M+ score progress every active week.
Pet battle progress every active week.
Dragonriding progress every active week (depending on racing system).
Do something with friends at some point every active weekend.
Profession progress every active week.
Gear progress every active week.
Goal list for DF season-by-season
Do less keys than in SL
Do less raid bosses than in SL (ideally 0 per season)
Have the RIO Recap have everyone of the friends of season be 10%+ of season runs
Stick to just one character for the weekend thing.
Opener plan
Play Dominator (as Protection Paladin) only until 2023.
Clear m0s the preseason weeks.
Complete between 1 and 8 keys per reset of season 1 until 2023.
NO BLOODY TRYHARD PUSHING.
Avoid planning out groups that might have role issues. In other words, try to find a consistent healer and not play with other tank mains.
Season 1 personal progress plan setup
Hollowfury (tank prog - miner/herb).
Serwaswathan (dps prog - JC/Engineer).
Narvashima (healer prog - miner/herb).
Navarim (dps prog - Tailor/Inscription).
Iwaz (dps prog - miner/blacksmith).
NOT play any of these until 2023.
Progress on one character a week is enough.
Level 70 and done one key is the minimum goal of these characters.
This is going to be a comparative reasearch project, sorta. When DF is done I'd like three questions answered:
What characters will have done the most things, achieved the most and had the most progress - the social character, the planned progress characters or the comfy characters?
What will I do with guild/community with the different sets of characters?
Will I actually do different things or remain "Dom does not have a main, he only has a million characters he does m+ on and nothing else"?
Obligatory post image:
Since when was it ok that you spend tyrannical m+ times on bosses in leveling dungeons? Oo
