Shadowlands by Night (2 weeks in)

So after the initial rush of Shadowlands release, I slowed down some and leveled up my mage and did some dungeons. And some m0s on my DH. And was pretty much en route to do full torghasts clears and all m0 clears on both characters, in addition to the weekly chores. But life found a way to interrupt so some days without playing and losing all focus... So it has been something of an unfocused mess by night after.
Thankfully the weekly renown stuff has been super easy. It's almost impossible to just randomly get 1000 anima if you do anything during a week. And not had any issues with the souls since ironically I did the unlock on Wutteät the first night, because it was overcrowded with Tarren Mill horde. It's a bit dull to do, but does not feel intrusive or something I need to rush. Can be gone gone days and it doesn't matter. I leveled my druid to 60, and I had all the souls in the world for the taking...

Soul ash on the other hand... On my DH I've had literally zero issues besides one run before I had any gear and got garbage powers. But other than that it has been a breeze. Then I did this week's wings on my mage..

All torghast runs had been a breeze, but then I did Mort'regar layer 3. I dont think I have ever been so frustrated at a game ever, the sheer design idea so dumb it beggars belief. Elite mobs that comes back to life. A lot of gap closers. Limited room to kite for some floor but a high elite mob density... And mage powers in torghast are super weird and bad it seems compared to some others. Didnt even notice the mobs coming back to life on DH, but I couldnt even get to the endboss the first 2 tries I had. Got more lucky the third time since there were less platforms and more rooms. But still lots of polymorph powers, and just undead mobs. And the power to be able to poly undead nowhere in sight. Kinda killed my interest in the whole tower after looking forward to it so much before the expansion. The whole thing has been watered down to the run being decided if you get the right powers for the place, and in this case I didnt, and unlike some source material like Dark Souls WoW never really get good at counterplay - its either super easy and intended that you have to, or there's none.
As for dungeons, it was by far the most fun the first week when we had less gear and you really noticed the mythic dungeon mechanics. Especially the last boss of Theater of Pain that was plain bonkers when we did it the first time.

It was by far the coolest boss fight I think they've had in the game, and felt better getting down than any raid boss Ive done I think. Not seen what they nerfed in that fight later, but not really had the sheer amount of stuff happen over the long time it took to kill the first time. One of the bosses I actually look forward to on tyrannical, just to perhaps relive it some.
Had some other typical Twilight Hope kills in dungeons like Plaguefall last boss...

Bosses have generally been fun, but the trash and walking parts (not to mentioned having to be carried by kyrians in Spire) in several dungeons is already getting stale. Same with having to activate checkpoints in Mists. With the amount of Night Fae around it shouldnt be a thing, but if everyone expects someone else to do it it might be.
So my plan was:
Plans for week 1
Wutteät
Level 60 ✔️
Do all m0s
Cap Torghast ✔️ (but with bugged last boss in one layer, so not maxed soul ash)
Cap Renown (maw part optional) ✔️
Serwa
Level 60 ✔️
Cap Torghast
Plans for week 2
Wutteät
Do all m0s ✔️
Cap Torghast ✔️
Cap Renown (maw part optional) ✔️
Craft legendary for m+ infusion ✔️
Serwa
Do all m0s ✔️
Cap Torghast ✔️
Cap Renown (maw part optional) ✔️
Craft legendary for fire or arcane infusion
Missing one m0 on the DH week 1 didn't really matter. Not having a legendary for raid opening on my mage can be a bit iffy, but Ill see if I can sneak in a torghast run right before the wednesday night raid... If it happens.
Ended up making Razelikh's Defilement on DH - doesnt really do anything for being more survivable, but the the sheer damage on trash... Gonna save up Soul Ash so I have surplus if one of the memories drop in the raid for havoc, but most likely gonna craft 4 level 1 legos before starting to upgrade. Might be balance changes. Might be seeing what I should actually use for the content that I do.
Mage has the Slick Ice memory, and since I am already Revendreth more single target focus for raids seems like the best plan. If it doesnt work I might change to Night Fae Firemage instead. But actually giving up being Revendreth would sting a bit.
I got Adagabo to 60, but have not even begun to think about legendaries - dont even have the ilevel for heroics. I guess I might want the Barkskin one for Guardian which drops off the second boss in raid, so guess I can lfr that early. For resto, balance and feral I have no idea. And will only do Torghast on it if I'm not horribly frustrated after doing mage...
Gonna make a new plan for the rest of the patch after seeing the raid the first week and doing some m+, as it will be pretty much the same thing from that point on. So might have a better idea what I want to do more of.
