Shadowlands Season 3 Week 10: Changes

This week's moment was this +5 NW pug on my newly leveled to 60 horde paladin, Viator. The healer alt-f4ed on first boss, never came back but we 4-manned it. Something something do we need healers?


The fourth catalyst charge became available, so for people that had something to make tier out of and had choked on vault drops in vault/raid could get 4-piece. Like my DH.


Affixes were Fortified - Spiteful - Necrotic - Encrypted. A week I either mind a lot (DK) or don't mind at all (Pala). Spiteful adds some time and Necrotic either prevents big pulls or prevents a lot of aoe damage since all pulls needs to be kited to some extent if bigger pulls. Since people are still gearing and getting set it has possible score but when geared it seems unlikely it will be a good week to push.


Weekly event was Burning Crusade timewalking.


The biggest thing out of the week was that I left the guild. I have talked about the guild having changed, and it's mostly due to a different make up of people and who to deal with on a daily basis. A group of people that did I did not share interests in what to do, how to do things and at what pace. However I stuck around because some there were some people it was worth dealing with that stuff to play with. But during Shadowlands, that group of people have slowly trickled away or changed. And this week, there were none left that gave me a reason to stay. Had a couple of years that was the best I had in WoW, but also a bunch of crap happened that would not have happened had I just stayed an on and off casual player. I was sorta hoping to stay on in guild as an anonymous person, but it just didn't work out. So it's back to the "normal" WoW again. Will see how that works out during later weeks...

Stormlufser the Awakened

Between vault (no upgrades) and spending 750 valor it was still not enough to get 1 more average item level, so yet another week needed. Dropped from raiding and doing keys on the character is super dull.

Attend 80%+ of the normal raids. [Current: 100% normal attendance, raid completed!]

Attend 40-60% of the heroic raids. [First pure heroic raid I've been asked to tank due to someone being away, making me lose interest in any more raiding this tier]

Nothing in the vault, and more annoying to play than the pala with the affixes, so no real change except getting the 4th tier piece.

Hollowfury the Faceless One

The vault sorted the iLevel goal, one dungeon sorted the score goal. Having DRW up so much helps a lot with Necrotic, but it's still so incredibly boring to play during Necrotic week. The Heart Strike spam is also mind numbingly dull, the set bonus made the spec somehow less interesting to play. And the expected nerf has happened, so the insane output was culled somewhat. So doubt this will be played more.

Dominator the Scenaturdist

Played a bit this week to get some dungeons done with Taralei. Still think the DH in general is more fun to play, but for the stuff people want to do this week prot pala is just busted. Bit of a luxury to be able to choose, I suppose. It's also really easy to get big overall compared to the other tanks, so I get some vindication by beating the people wanting to do higher keys on everything... Might actually end up with the highest score and iLevel for the intended season playtime!

In other news

Adagabo got 4-piece, and tried a dungeon as Guardian. The 2-piece makes some pulls easier since you get berserk for aggro, but the 4-piece just doubles down on the bucket of berserk bonuses making it even more sad when it's not available. Scrapped after that one 4-piece run.


Viator made his return. Leveled to 60 on thursday, got cheap neck and ring rank 7 base items on ah and jumped to 244 iLevel without much main help (Torghast mats only) before reset's end. I have missed the belf racial for dungeons SO MUCH. If I end up doing season 4 and prot pala borrowed power is not nerfed, I assume I will main this guy. Will see if I try joining a guild/communities with it, or just pug the normal way when the time comes.
