Last reset saw the end of Shadowlands season 4, moving into post season with the DF prepatch. Since prepatch tuning usually is all over the place, I thought it was best to do the summary before post season numbers clutter things up. If RIO does a season/expansion recap that will spur another post...
Sorted on m+ score.
Dominator the Seeker
Human Paladin

In a twist of fate, the character I meant to ditch after BFA ended up as the main again. Most of the score and valor comes from running with guildies at the tail end of the season. I have been called Dominic by guildies which had a certain charm, and have considered renaming the character that...
Dom and Wutteät followed each other closely early on in the season, but one Necrotic week made Dom take the lead. Considering the group comp I played with the most (2 havoc dhs and an outlaw rogue as dps, pug healer) Dom was just more practical anyway. The end of expansion haste levels (combined with the affix haste) almost made playing prot pala feel as fluid as BFA prot. Nothing really exciting happening or gear to be had, however.
Ironically not really close to be considered geared. Still a 272 weapon from last season, and the 291 shield from the first dungeon weekly.
Due to necrotic being gone in DF, playing Dom as first character had lost it's appeal. Could play Wutteät for fun, or Korinthi to have Cres and not do as much class stacking. But then they gave paladins a combat res...

Esmënet the Shrouded
Dark Iron Hunter

Started the season by spamming low dungeons. Dried up early season when I got to the +17-18 range and people just kicked me when they saw I wasn't survival. This changed at some point, so getting a 17-18 group as dps was easier than tank. DPS pugs just seemed to have had bad ilevel and just tried higher keys since +15s was for high geared people doing vault stuff. But spent all my higher key time on tanks with guildies so never really got anywhere remotely high. Not even to 2200 that I tried to last week of season, as every Kara I joined folded.
Will play in DF as dps, question is only if I start with it or shaman as opener.
Considered geared with 298+ items in every slot weeks ago. But have changed some pieces along the way from better statted drops and 304 vaults. Was overally pretty lucky with drops and vault this season, only a single dead vault.

Trashmaster Wutteät
Night Elf Demon Hunter

Ended up being the second prio tank this season. Since I started with hunter, and after a necrotic week Dom was way ahead gear and scorewise and gearwise. Still a lot of fun, but given that the group Ive done a bit higher stuff with already had 2 dhs, bringing a third would be a bit dumb anyway.
Ended up very close to having all pieces as 298+ items outside legendaries. But did not quite get the valor for the helm before season end, which was the last piece to complete the thing.

Korinthi the Darkener
Worgen Death Knight

This character was more of an afterthought this season than anything. Esmënet was "done", I lost interest in Ihnanna and needed another character for the laid back stuff I did. Enter the Death Knight I leveled for the worgen guild achievement. The difference from last season when I tried set bonus and stuff with Hollowfury was that I could get the Jailer weaopn with raid tokens. Could also get the good raid trinkets, and get the general experience. Which was good performance wise, but a very boring playstyle.
Between playing this on live, and playing the character on beta too, the class went from "level up for sure season 1 in DF" to "unsure" like a lot of other classes. When paladin got a combat res on top, it made playing this as an opener tank a nogo.

Ihnanna
Human Monk

After Esmënet was done with the easy stuff, this was the character I turned to. Mostly because I wanted to have something a bit geared for Torghast, but also because I wanted to give healing a proper try. So birds with one stone. So I started doing dungeons as mistweaver... Fistweaving, no less. Could have perhaps chosen a more traditional healer :)
I enjoyed healing as a principle. But as a pug thing, it's by far the most frustrating role for me. If you play tank you obviously have some control over pace, route and using your stuff well to make the run smoother. If you play dps right, everything is easier on the tank and healer and yourself. As a healer, if the group does well you can just dps, use cds when the dungeon requires and chill out. If the group is crap, everything goes to hell and you don't really have a say in it - you can only try to keep afloat while everyone blames you for them making the boat take in water.
I will heal some in DF too, but will pick a ranged healer at the very least. Mistweaver is fun and all, but groups are already drowning in melee.
Did not end up geared, and as with every season this character was pretty unlucky with loot and ended up being the worst geared of the active ones.
