Trollblomst - a presentation

Writer's picture: RutheRuthe

Once upon a time, a little tauren called Blomst (means flower in Norwegian) was born. More exactly, 26th of August 2007. I had played my warlock, Ruth(e), through vanilla. And wanted to play a druid for so long, but didn't like the fact that you had to be tauren. When the Burning Crusade was going on, I finally decided to make her anyway. And learned to like being a tauren.

Blomst from her early days

I played up to the middle of Cataclysm i think, when I took a longer break. I did not raid back then, only doing 5 man instances with friends. With feral as main spec and resto as off spec.

The day they announced that trolls could be druids was a happy day for me. I did not hesitate to race change to a darkspear troll. We changed server a couple of times too, following a friend. One time the name "Blomst" was already taken. So she was renamed to Trollblomst.

Trollblomst between Cataclysm and Legion

In Legion I started playing again. And I don't think I've ever played that much before! When leveling I tried out tanking. And found out that it's not for me, even though it's cool to be a bear. I'm no leader, and never know where to go.

I joined a guild consisting of more than only my friends, and being active there, for the first time. They introduced me to raiding. Trollblomst was my main at the start, and I healed through Emerald Nightmare and Nighthold. It was superfun! Resto druids were pretty good!

After that I needed to do something else, and started maining my warlock again. When my guild got the curve on Antorus, I switched back again. The guild stopped raiding regularly, and I almost stopped playing. But then my friend Krissie started playing again! I managed to lure her over to the horde side, and we were both eager to do dungeons together.

The Antorus raid lasted long, being the last raid in the expansion. So I had time to try out both feral and balance. I really love feral. Who don't want to be a cat? I loved doing m+ (and still do). It was kind of hard to stay alive as feral, and I didn't do too well in higher dungeons. When it came to healing, it was just too much pressure (and too many jerks in pugs) for me to want to continue as healer for mythic plus dungeons. So I decided to go for balance.

I don't like the moonkin form, and am not very found of the astral form either, but tried it out anyway. At first I thought it was a bit boring. But I learned to like it. I did well in m+ where the mobs didn't die too fast. After the changes in the prepatch for BFA I think I like it even more, because it is a bit faster, more action. Now I'm just waiting for the BFA expansion, and am hoping that balance will be a good spec to play in the content to come.
