Wutteät SL Season 2 (Week 6) [End]

Week 5 was pretty intense, getting KSM and doings lots of dungeons with a good atmosphere. But having a feeling of just redoing last season. 8 dungeons that were stagnant in the beta, and now almost 9 months since release but no additions is a bit tame.

Week 6 came with the new paradox of no longer having goals and being somewhat burned out, but still enjoying doing dungeons with friends. No longer obligations or the need to make groups, but still doing a fair amount of keys due other people wanting something. So ended up doing more on the character than expected, but 99% of it was mythic plus.

Since last time in world content

Korthia, campaign and world content

Completed the two last campaign quests this patch. The Bastion one had meat and character development, but had too many odd filler quests for my liking. The final part I really enjoyed; it had character development for a couple of characters and no filler quests. Just a shame it's now a long wait to have it continued. Now done with the solo content of this patch.

Torghast

Did a single layer 11 run just after I posted I wouldn't do more, but checked numbers on the new soulbind. However, reached KSM goal so not doing Torghast for the odd +7 or +2 point m+ run for score.

Gold

Up a little over 50 000 gold this week. Income cut in half compared to last week. Only made one or two sales of rank 3 legendaries, and few Shaping Fates and Callings done for raw gold across all characters..

Since last time in m+

Status

Affix sets were Tyrannical/Sanguine/Storming and Fortified/Raging/Explosive. The Tyrannical set was really really good, perhaps the best set on the calendar for groups of our level? The fortified one is one of those AD&D 2nd edition sets where the mobs tickle, tickle some more and boom you're dead as a tank. It's highly annoying, but not really sure if the week is bad or not, since power with gear and soulbinds keeps growing every week.

Scoring Runs

Tyrannical week had scoring runs for 7 out 8 dungeons, only missing Sanguine Depths which was a shame. Fortified had 6 scoring runs, missing Mists and Halls. We actually botched a Mists 16 in a major way, and never got a Halls 16 key to try.

Mists of Tirna Scithe 16 (+) [Tyrannical]

The tyrannical run was a bit touch and go on first boss, but otherwise smooth. Guild run. Had one attempt at a 17 Mists later, but had some unlucky deaths and target priority into a horrible end of dungeon trash pull that made us go over by about 2 minutes. Need some kind of shotcalling for the bigger pulls if we are pushing this later.

De Other Side 16 (+) [Tyrannical] & 16 (+) [Fortified]

De Other King's Rest has become a cruise control dungeon on Tyrannical after the Hakkar nerf, while a nightmare on Fortified at times. The run had the odd deaths but was fairly easy from a tank perspective at least.

The Fortified 16 was a lot worse. The usual 2 big pulls in the main area was a pain as usual, and the big red angry trolls. With raging however, the real killers were the slimes in the mechagon area. Don't think I've died quite as much in any timed key in recent memory. The affixes were felt a lot here. Guild run.

Halls of Atonement 16 (+) [Tyrannical]

The tyrannical was the second 16 we timed. We needed two attempts. First one I pulled something on accident at least once near first miniboss, then we had another couple body pulls after first boss. And with the Halls of Atonement timer that was a deplete. The second one was a lot smoother resulting in a timed run. Guild group.

Necrotic Wake 16 (+) [Tyrannical] & 16 (+) [Fortified]

Wake seems to have a very lenient timer, we had some mishaps but still had over 2 minutes left on timer on Tyrannical. Can compete with Sanguine Depths and De Other Side for the 15-16 cruise control dungeon. Guild run.

Fortified was even faster, with 5 minutes left. Urzien needed a healing weapon so we did a bunch of Wakes since we had the keys; 2 chested 2 15s before doing this one. Guild group.

The real pain point of Wake just seems to be that everyone does it in a different way. Everyone seems to be on board with me turning into a dictator in here, so it gets done the same way every time, and the pain points aren't there. Meanwhile, we depleted a 15 Wake in another guild group this week, and I had two runs not finished in pug (one of them even a NW 2.....) simply because routing and when to use items was all over the place. I think I noted this at the start of the expansion. Everyone just picks up weapons in normal/heroic runs to pad, and continue doing so in low m+. Or have a different experience on where to use them...

Spires of Ascension 16 (+) [Fortified] & 15 (+) [Tyrannical]

The fortified run was brutal. Just one missed kick, or one something not dodged and somebody died. Barely timed it anyway, but a 17 sounds iffy here with this affix set.

The tyrannical run was much smoother, the pug warrior was all over the place but still did decent dps. 3 guildies + 1 pug.

Plaguefall 15 (+) [Tyrannical] & (+) 16 (+) [Fortified]

The Tyrannical week I played Havoc for a change. Urzien wanted to tank and we already had lust so I thought why not. Sanguine was a bit iffy some places, but there weren't any major pain points. Not top notch dps from me, but it was enough for a good time still, almost ++ even. Guild run.

The Fortified week was a lot more painful and I was back to tanking. Think pretty much every pull besides the slimes before first boss was hurting. Made it thought unscathed enough to have almost 4 minutes left on clock, so couldn't have been that bad. Guild run.

Theater of Pain 15 (+) [Tyrannical] & 16 (+) [Fortified]

Theater we always mess up. This Tyrannical affix set made it impossible to mess up Theater to the point of having to do mass pulls to avoid boredom. Guild group, or rather Alshah trinket farm group.

The 15 fortified was a bit more messy, the Xav area big pull with double arbalest is bad every fortified week, but if they get any attacks off when they enrage people are just dead. Same with most of the lich area trash. Guild group, or Urzien healing gear farm group.

Overall

Got KSM last reset. And thus completed the m+ goal in week 5. I had a RIO goal (beat previous season score) but since they changed the scoring system it's hard to compare. Now have more ingame score than the season 1/post season 1 score. Half done with the reset, half curious if we will end up doing 17s/18s in a couple of week with the progress happening every week.

Overall score: 2079.8

Tank score: 2065.2

DPS score: 577.5

Got a 249 Poxstorm from the week 4 generated vault. Full vault generated in week 5 which yielded the bis ring (Stichflesh Signet) and full vault generated week 6.

This week in alt projects

Hollowfury (Human Frost Death Knight [Venthyr])

Got the Soulrender trinket in vault, then got Remnant trinket in LFR. First having a 45 min queue to get into the second wing of LFR to miss first boss, then having wipes to berserk on both Guardian and Fatescribe killed my motivation to do more LFR projects. The third wing bosses are so weird for LFR since they take so long, wonder how Sylvanas will be with the tag and forget people and then wiping on "enrage" there for people that do it.

Mimara (Lightforged Draenei Protection Paladin [Kyrian])

Did Shaping Fate & Replenishing Reservoir, pugged 2 keys and was questioning the point of it. But then Urzien wanted in on some of the keys I had since they had healer loot, and suddenly I had done 10 keys. There was also an alt m+ night with a full guild group worth of alts, where I tanked one. Three 10+ keys done in time on this one now.

Adagabo (Night Elf Guardian Druid [Night Fae])

Did Shaping Fate & Replenishing Reservoir and pugged four 2s. Without affixes, just pulling a bunch of mobs and use Incarnation is a bit of fun.

Stormlufser (Dwarf Enhancement Shaman [Venthyr])

Did a 7 TOP during in the alt m+ group, elemental since the healer role was taken and I haven't made an enhance legendary yet.

Going Forward

I now consider this character complete and will cease blogging about it. Some iLevels and Renown is not worth mentioning. Was kinda expecting to get those before the KSM. Will just make a summary at end of season if I am still around for that bit instead.

I was gonna switch to focusing on an alt when the "mains" were done. But main runs have such a stranglehold on what we do as a guild group, since the loot system is what it is. There is the odd alt run night, but most of the time I just pug. And then I dont pug for a month. So instead of tracking weekly progress, will update for every character that achieves the following:

  • All 8 dungeons timed on 10 or higher

  • 236 iLevel or higher on main spec

  • A score on all specs for the character
